We are so excited to share our award-winning newborn and baby photography images today. First of all, let me (belatedly) wish you all a Happy New. We hope you all enjoyed a thoroughly lovely Christmas just as we did!

So… we’re not generally into “tooting our own horn”. But… with December being a quieter month for us we thought it would be a good idea to use some free time to start entering some competition. Admittedly, we’ve been somewhat slack over the past couple of years. In fact, in nearly 4 years since we moved to Sussex, we haven’t entered a single competition of any kind! Well, we decided it’s high time to make a change and get a few competition entries going again!

The newborn and baby photography industry has seen a huge amount of growth over the past few years. There is now a vast range of talent in the UK so we thought it would be interesting to see how we fare against our contemporaries!

We entered the “Find the Best Photographer” image contest (formerly known as Banpas) in December. We then promptly got into the Christmas spirit and forgot all about it. 🙂

Imagine our surprise when we checked in to find that not only had we been given two awards. Third place award for the beautiful image of sitter Rae, wearing one of our stunning flower bonnets. And a second place award for the image of little Noah, sleeping soundly in one of our custom newborn baby beds. How lovely is that?

Well, we didn’t get the top-slot on this occasion. That went to the incredibly talented Hayley Cattell from Yorkshire but what a lovely surprise! Also, a great way to start the year!

We got newborn photographs done with Rob and Karen, they were really accommodating to fit us in at short notice prior to 2 weeks since birth, as they mentioned the sooner the better for these sort of photos. We came into their home studio and were immediately at ease. They explained the process taking on board some of things we wanted and got to work! Our little one didn't want to sleep initially (although we also loved the awake photos they got), but as a team they worked with her, keeping her calm, then got her to sleep and that's when they stepped up the speed! Between them, they worked well for clothes changes/setting changes keeping baby asleep and it was truly a pleasure to watch professionals at their craft. Cut to receiving to the photos which was around about 2 weeks fully edited, we are delighted with the results! Of course cost may be a consideration for some for such photos but we considered it fair for the quality received. Delighted with the outcome and we would recommend it for newborn photos! We are also aware they do other photos for babies/children and would not hesitate to use them in the future!

It's a family run business and the couple who do the baby photo shoots are absolutely lovely. We used them before as well for our first child and came back to them again for our second. They make you feel comfortable and you know your child is in good hands while they get them ready for different poses. They are very professional, friendly and flexible. I'd highly recommend Karen and Rob having attended for a newborn photoshoot which also featured a family shot with our two other toddlers. Karen and Rob were fantastic at engaging our older children whilst ensuring they got those all important shots which we will cherish as parents for years to come and our children once they are older. We booked the Baby Plan (3 shoots) and chose the maternity, new born and sitter sessions. Neither of us likes having our photos taken but we wanted to make sure we captured this time of our and our baby's life in a unique but personal way and they delivered!
