Your finished casts can be finished in a variety of different colours and can be either mounted onto their own plinth or mounted into the frame of your choice.

Baby Hand and Foot Casting Information
How to book a baby hand cast or baby foot cast?
Simple! Just click on the "book now" button, and select a date and time to have your cast moulding created. All casting sessions cost just £25 for the session itself (products purchased separately).
If you are already attending a studio portrait session with us, a casting session may be added to your existing session at no extra charge - you'll just need to pay for the products you want us to create, as normal.
Casting sessions booked on their own cost £25 for the session itself, and we have a range of casting options to choose from, with prices starting from just £95 for a single plinth mounted hand or foot cast, to £250 for our largest custom framed product.
Is this safe?
Absolutely! Our baby casts are made using dental quality alginate (this is a kind of warm gel we'll pop your baby's hands or feet in for a minute or two while it firms up). This is the same material your dentist uses to make a cast of your teeth - so it's completely safe to use on your baby's skin.
How long does it take?
The actual process of creating your individual cast doesn't take very long - we just need a few minutes for each cast to 'set'... this means the warm gel becomes firm (but not hard - it still remains flexible) so with a little wiggle, baby's hand or foot will slide out easily. The whole process is completely safe and painless.
All the finishing is done later, so if you're booking a standalone appointment for a single cast (as opposed to adding this to an existing baby portraits session) then your appointment should take no more than about half an hour or so. Multiple casts will obviously take a little longer, but we'll advise on the details when confirming your booking with us.
What happens next?
After your casting session is complete, we'll have the unique mould we need to create your finished cast for you. This does take a little time to do, and once the cast is made we also need to carefully finish off the details, including 'retouching' any imperfections if needed, applying the finishing colour, and mounting your cast to your chosen mounting plinth or 3D frame.
Once everything is finished as per your order, we'll let you know your beautiful keepsake is ready for collection.

I was bought a baby photoshoot by my friend for my baby shower and it was the best gift i got! We booked the Baby Plan (3 shoots) and chose the maternity, new born and sitter sessions. Neither of us likes having our photos taken but we wanted to make sure we captured this time of our and our baby's life in a unique but personal way and they delivered! We are delighted with the photos Rob and Karen have captured of our newborn. I was abit apprehensive that we would have a crying baby in the photos as he doesn't do well with being naked however Karen managed to change him countless times with no tears. Rob and Karen were extremely friendly, professional and welcoming. They had a lovely warm and cosy studio and made my husband and i feel so comfortable and at ease. They were amazing when working with our 8 day old daughter and we never felt rushed or pressured and were able to stop to feed/change her when she needed it. I am a shy person so was nervous about having maternity photos taken, however I am so glad that I booked with Baby Shoots photography and now we have amazing photos to treasure forever. We visited Baby Shoots in April 2021 with our 10 day old son for a New Born shoot and were very pleased with the entire Experience.Rob and Karen were very welcoming and made the whole experience really enjoyable.Our baby was handled expertly and gently and kept warm and happy whilst being dressed in different cute outfits.There are so many props and options and we were extremely happy with the pictures we received.Our only problem is we can’t decide which ones to put up as they’re all fantastic. A pretty good problem to have!We’ll definitely be back and can’t recommend this company enough.

A wonderful experience had capturing our gorgeous baby boy. Karen and Rob were so patient and professional as our little man was very alert for most of the day (he was 2 weeks old at the time so a bit older than most of the newborn shoots!), but they still managed to get all the shots they'd hoped for and for us, absolutely beautiful! The studio is such a lovely space to be in, very calm and relaxing and all the cute props they use, was so lovely to watch it all! They really know how to get the perfect picture! We had a wonderful experience for our new born baby shoot. This was an extremely professional shoot. For first time parents who were just 6 days post new arrival we arrived very sleep deprived and a little nervous what if baby cries and it just becomes a nightmare! We can’t believe how chilled the atmosphere was & we were able to completely relax & even have a moment to ourselves.Karen is a master at dressing, undressing & her attention to detail to get baby in the correct poses whilst he slept throughout was amazing!Robert took fantastic pictures that are priceless & we will treasure forever.For us it was just easy & slick throughout the shoot & with communications before & after. Amazing service from Karen and Rob - I took my time searching around on the net before I booked baby shoots for our newborn pictures. I was really impressed with their standard of photos and loved all the props they used. Our shoot took around 4 hours when our baby was only a week old. Karen was so gentle and caring when handling our little girl, her safety and well-being was the main priority, and that put us new parents at ease! Time was taken between outfit changes, nothing was rushed and the studio was lovely and warm and our baby slept right through. Karen and rob make a fantastic team and the photos we received at the end are amazing, we will cherish them forever! There was no pressure from a sales perspective to purchase any products and I highly recommend booking with baby shoots, we will definitely be back for the 1 year cake smash! Amazing!I was a bit nervous taking my 2 boys and new baby along for photo shoot where they would have to sit still for a considerable amount of time, but both Robert and Karen made us all feel so comfortable and at home. We Took our daughter to Rob and Karen when she was 5 days old for a baby photoshoot. I honestly cannot recommend Baby Shoots Photography highly enough! We were a little apprehensive taking our little girl to strangers at such a young age, however we need not have worried! Rob and Karen put us at ease as soon as we walked through the door and could not have been any more professional. They work so well together to create stunning photographs, whilst all the time putting the needs of the little on first, stopping for feeds etc. When we went to look at the finished photo's we were simply blown away by their work. Rob was brilliant, and patient, in helping us choose the photos! We purchased the photos on USB, a framed canvas and album. The quality of the album and canvas is simply stunning and friends and family have been really complimentary of them! We could not be any happier with our photos and will cherish them forever! I came across Baby Shoots photography on google and was immediately impressed and booked in right away.From start to finish Rob and Karen were very friendly and welcoming and made us feel relaxed. I was so impressed how they managed to get Eva into the different positions without her even waking up! The attention to detail for each shot and the quality of the photos afterwards is what makes them stand out from the rest. So much so we brought all the photos! You won't be disappointed!!!

We were given a photo shoot with Baby Shoots as a gift from our family when our daughter was born.Rob & Karen have a very informative website which told us what we could do as parents to make the shoot go more smoothly which was very helpful.The studio is based at their home in Copthorne and it is fully equipped with lots of wonderful props for the photos.Karen was very calm and gentle with our daughter when putting her in poses for the photos- this was very important to us.We were thrilled when we reviewed the pictures- they were better than we could have imagined and we now have gorgeous photos of our daughter which we will cherish forever as well as beautiful pictures of us as a family - we will treasure them for years to come. Thank you Rob & Karen.

We took our 4day old Trai to a newborn shoot and we cannot be happier. From the moment we arrived Rob & Karen made us feel very welcome and at ease. The time and effort spent putting our little Trai in all the positions for each take was really amazing to watch, the attention to detail in each shot is what we feel like makes our photos unique. When the photos where ready we was invited back to view them and each and every photo was beyond our expectations. We purchased all photos on a usb and 10 prints which we haven't stopped showing friends and family. Over all the experience was truly magical and a day we will never forget. Can't wait to return for another shoot soon!

We've just been to baby shoots photography last week to select our photos which we are really happy with. The shooting was difficult because our daughter Louisa decided she didn't need any sleep. But Karen and Rob are very professional and patient they still made sure we had a great selection even if some poses weren't possible.

We took Jacob to baby shoots photography when he was 10 days old. Although he wasn't the easiest to photograph Rob and Karen were amazing with him and were very patient. Karen and Rob were very welcoming and were brilliant with Jacob. The photographs were amazing and we couldn't be happier. I will definitely be using their service for any other photography needs and recommending them to family and friends.

We recently visited Rob & Karen at Baby Shoots for our second newborn shoot (first in 2013) and again cannot fault the service provided to us throughout all steps of the shoot process from booking, to the photoshoot, to receiving our final images. Our baby was not the most willing of subjects to be photographed as he did not want to cooperate and sleep peacefully, but Rob and Karen were patient, helpful and professional and managed to achieve some stunning pictures which we will treasure in the same way we have with our first. You definitely get what you pay for with these kind of shoots and I am so glad we chose to return to Baby Shoots, not only for the perfect final images but for the care that goes into achieving them too. I would recommend to anyone looking for a way to perfectly capture their newborn with stunning photos that are complimented by all that see them! ×
