Children’s Portraiture West Sussex

Children’s Portraiture CrawleyMeet Florence and Rufus from West Sussex who came to our studio for some children’s portraiture.  Now, our models were in very different moods on the day of the photoshoot.  Rufus had just woken up after his journey from Billingshurst and upon arrival was a tad shy.  However, once the sleepiness had passed, his curiosity for what was going on grew.  Rufus became a very willing participant.  He was more than pleased to give us his all 🙂  His sister, however, seemed more diffident from the start.  Mum did an excellent job of gently coaxing Florence to join her brother and sit for some portraits.  Florence did hold on to trusty rabbit for some security during the session – it’s not a bad idea to bring some of the children’s toys to help them feel at ease at the start.

As is our way, we allow children who come to our studio, time to relax and just feel as comfortable as is possible in their surroundings.  Children only ever join in when they are ready to do so.  We got some lovely portraits of both children as you can see.  It was a pleasure to meet this lovely family and to coax the smiles from each child.  Although we like to have the children smile, it’s also nice to capture natural rested facial expressions too.
