HOW IT WORKS

During your portrait session, we’ll create a gallery of between 10 – 20 beautiful portraits for you to choose from.

We pose our fine art portraits very simply and employ classic lighting techniques to create a timeless quality to your images.

Immediate viewing

After we’ve created your portraits, you’ll be able to view the images straight out of camera, right away. This is when you can select your favourite portrait you want us to retouch and print for you as your included wall art to keep.

This is also the time to order any additional wall art products you want, taking advantage of the special 25% discount included in your session fee.

Once we know which images you want to keep, we’ll begin the editing process!

Meticulous editing, detail, and Retouching

Our fine art portrait sessions are designed to be more than just a simple image captured on camera.

Each image you’ve selected will be meticulously edited and retouched in an “old masters, painterly style”. This will look beautiful when displayed on your wall. These images are particularly suited to being shown in large format on canvas, or framed prints.

So much more than just a snapshot…

Our editing process includes full retouching, colour calibration and grading. We also add subtle textures, dodge, burn, vignettes and much more, to stylise your portraits for you.

After editing, we’ll create any printed products you’ve ordered, and upload an online gallery so you can download the finished digital images that will also be included for any portraits youve purchased as wall art from us.

FINE ART FAQS

Our Fine Art portrait sessions are for customers looking for a timeless portrait to hang on the wall.

These portrait sessions are calm and methodical. They are ideal for older children who are able to sit quietly and follow our gentle directions. This way, we can pose them for the best portrait images.

These sessions can also be for adults who want a timeless portrait in an Old Masters style of portraiture.

These sessions are not suitable for very lively children who are unable or unwilling to follow instructions. We have other portrait sessions for that. 🙂

This session produces a smaller selection of images than our other portrait sessions. Consequently, if you want a wider variety of images, then a different session will work better for you.

Unlike many other portrait sessions, we are generally not looking for a huge cheesy smile during our Fine Art Portrait sessions. Instead, we generally aim for a relaxed expression in the final images.

Here, we capture the beauty that is inherent to every child, without distractions.

This session does not include digital images as standard, but any images you buy from us in printed wall art format, will also include a digital copy of that same finished image at no extra charge, after all editing and retouching has been completed.

Each image selected from this session will be painstakingly edited and retouched in a style reminiscent of an old masters style portrait. Perfect for display on your walls.

This session fee includes 1 fully edited & retouched framed or canvas portrait, 18×12 inch.

The session also includes a massive 25% discount off any printed images and wall art purchased from the session.

We’ll aim to create a gallery of around 10-20 images for you to choose from immediately after your portrait session.

At this time, our Fine Art portrait sessions are designed for a single subject. If you have two children and would like a portrait in this style, please get in touch with us to discuss this in more detail.

For fine art child portraits, it’s important that all clothing and props are carefully considered. We want everything to work together in the style of the images we will take for you.

Often, older-style, vintage clothing and props will work perfectly for this. Think about colours, layers and textures that will all work together. Suitable items can often be found in secondhand shops, costume stores, eBay and Etsy.

We recommend arranging a free consultation to discuss your requirements. We’ll offer more specific advice to you once you’ve booked your session with us.
