Sweet baby Florence came to us from Cowden for her newborn photography session. Isn’t she beautiful?

Our recommended age for newborn photography is just about a week old. Sometimes though, circumstances dictate otherwise so we need to do a newborn shoot at a later than ideal date. Baby Florence was 28 days old when she came for her newborn session! Often, this can mean a difficult session – but Florence slept pretty much right through her session so we were able to take plenty of gorgeous portraits of her. Usually, older newborns (over 12 days) tend to be more awake and much less curly than when they are really newborn. Florence was the exception that proves the rule because she pretty well slept like a newborn under two weeks old!

Although Florence slept well for us and we got some beautiful newborn portraits for mum and dad if you’re expecting a baby and considering a newborn photo session we do recommend booking early if possible. We usually set a provisional date when we complete the initial booking. However, we’re happy to adjust your actual newborn session date after baby is born if we need to. Pre-booked newborn sessions always take priority in our booking diary.
