For a cake smash portrait session, this is usually 30-40 portraits. Buying the complete set of digital images means you’ll also receive a complimentary ultra high-resolution slideshow set to music too!

After purchase, you’ll be able to download your complete set from an online gallery we’ll create for you. Your gallery also includes options to purchase additional frames, prints, canvas, cards, and more if you wish.

Our portrait studio is located in the village of Copthorne, West Sussex. We’re right on the border between Surrey and West Sussex. We are 10 minutes from Crawley and East Grinstead or 5 minutes from junction 10 of the M23 motorway.

For the best cake smash portraits, we recommend arranging your photoshoot for when your baby is close to his or her first birthday.

Cake smash portraits are the perfect way to mark the milestone of your baby’s first birthday. We’re also happy to include a few ‘normal’ baby portraits before we begin the cake smash. Then we’ll begin real fun with the messy cake smash photos!

We keep all our baby portrait sessions relatively short because we know all babies have a short attention span.

A standard cake smash portrait session will take up to an hour. A cake smash mini-session takes up to 30 minutes.

Yes, we supply all the props, with the exception of the cake itself. This avoids any allergy issues.

We also have a range of backgrounds, and even a small collection of clothing to choose from, to help us create the best cake smash photos for you… in fact everything except the cake and baby!

If you already own specific props, you would like to include, that’s also no problem.

We recommend selecting a lovely outfit for your cake smash portraits, with colours to complement the backdrop you choose.

Although it may get a little messy, we guarantee you’ll be keeping your beautiful cake smash portraits for years and years (much longer than the outfit). So, you’ll want this to be something you’ll really love seeing even after your baby has fully grown up!

We recommend matching your baby’s cake smash outfit to the background set you love most. We’ll send you all the details you’ll need when we confirm your booking.

To avoid allergy issues, we ask you to provide your own cake for a cake smash session. Make it as messy as you like, and we’ll take care of any mess afterwards!

We shoot fast and take lots of images during a cake smash session so we’ll have a great gallery of images to choose from.

A typical cake smash session will produce a gallery of around 30 – 40 images for you to choose from.

A standard à la carte cake smash session fee includes our time and talent to create and retouch a set of beautiful images for you, but images and products are not included in the session fee, so must be purchased separately.

I have been meaning to write this review for a while, but I never had a spare moment! I found Baby Shoots Photography online after a thorough search for baby photographers. This business stood out to me purely because of their reviews as well as having the most professional and gorgeous photos on their instagram account (which you should totally follow!). I was a little anxious at first as I had a previous photographer for all my baby/family photoshoots who we were so loyal too, but unfortunately for us, she undertook a new venture! We got newborn photographs done with Rob and Karen, they were really accommodating to fit us in at short notice prior to 2 weeks since birth, as they mentioned the sooner the better for these sort of photos. We came into their home studio and were immediately at ease. They explained the process taking on board some of things we wanted and got to work! Our little one didn't want to sleep initially (although we also loved the awake photos they got), but as a team they worked with her, keeping her calm, then got her to sleep and that's when they stepped up the speed! Between them, they worked well for clothes changes/setting changes keeping baby asleep and it was truly a pleasure to watch professionals at their craft. Cut to receiving to the photos which was around about 2 weeks fully edited, we are delighted with the results! Of course cost may be a consideration for some for such photos but we considered it fair for the quality received. Delighted with the outcome and we would recommend it for newborn photos! We are also aware they do other photos for babies/children and would not hesitate to use them in the future!

I'd highly recommend Karen and Rob having attended for a newborn photoshoot which also featured a family shot with our two other toddlers. Karen and Rob were fantastic at engaging our older children whilst ensuring they got those all important shots which we will cherish as parents for years to come and our children once they are older.
