About Us

Hi, we’re Karen & Rob… and we’re the team BabyShoots!

With Rob having been a full-time professional photographer for over 20 years, for the last 15 years we’ve specialised in creating beautiful newborn and baby portraits, helping families across Sussex create timeless memories of their little ones’ earliest days.

Our calm, baby-led sessions are relaxed — no rush, no posing pressure — just gentle guidance and authentic moments you’ll treasure for life.

In our free time, we love to unwind at a music festival and to travel when we can. We’re both pretty relaxed and very patient… which happens to be the perfect demeanor for a pair of newborn photographers!

book YOUR SHOOT WITH US

Simply select an available date, and book using our online booking form below. We’ll send you an immediate confirmation containing everything you need to prepare for the best possible baby portraits, including our full selection of backdrops you can choose from.

Enjoy a SUPER_FUN PORTRAIT experience!

Enjoy the fun, as we create a stunning set of beautiful baby portraits right before your eyes. You and your baby will love the process and leave with a beautiful collection of new memories from this special experience.

VIEW & SELECT YOUR FAVOURITE IMAGES

After the shoot, we’ll meticulously edit and retouch every image before inviting you back to view the final gallery and choose your favourites. You’re free to upgrade by adding extra images or products, or stay with your initial package.

04.

Private online gallery with instant digital downloads

After you’ve selected your favourite portraits and purchased any optional extras, you can download your chosen images immediately from your own private online gallery.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

A Cake Smash can be booked for any time, but is often scheduled to take place on or around baby’s first birthday. This marks the Cake Smash as the perfect milestone – a real time to remember.

To avoid allergy issues, we ask you to provide your own cake for a cake smash session. Make it as messy as you like, and we’ll take care of any mess afterwards!

We’ll send you all the details you need for your portrait session, as soon as you book with us. This includes a wide range of different backdrops you can choose from before you come to the studio.

Choosing your backdrops in advance means you can select the best colours for your baby’s clothing (and cake) to suit the theme(s) you’ve chosen for your Cake Smash.

We recommend selecting a lovely outfit for your cake smash portraits, with colours to complement the backdrop you choose.

Although it may get a little messy, we guarantee you’ll be keeping your beautiful cake smash portraits for years and years (much longer than the outfit). So, you’ll want this to be something you’ll really love seeing even after your baby has fully grown up!

We recommend matching your baby’s cake smash outfit to the background set you love most. We’ll send you all the details you’ll need when we confirm your booking.

We shoot lots of images during your baby portrait session… and then we edit and retouch all the very best ones to show you.

A typical gallery from a standard sitter session will usually include between 30 – 50 beautiful baby portraits for you to choose from. Our Mini sessions will have less files of course – but we’ll ensure you have a great selection of images to choose from.

All images are fully edited and retouched before we show them to you. Images are usually ready within 2 weeks (often less).

Yes, of course. A number of digital images are already included in each Sitter session package, but you also have the option to add more if you want to.

We also offer a wide range of stunning physical products such as framed prints, canvas, albums and our beautiful heirloom print boxes… any of which can be added at your discretion.
