Getting the best from your Christmas Mini session

Congratulations on booking your Christmas Mini Session with Baby Shoots Photography!

We’ll do almost all the work for you, setting everything up before you arrive, so the backdrop, set, props and lighting are all perfectly arranged beforehand.

All you need to do is to make sure any children being photographed are well-rested and dressed in a suitable outfit that will work well with the colours of the set we’ll be photographing them on. You don’t need to use actual Christmas outfits (although you’re welcome to if you want to).

As in previous years we’ll be offering a choice of two different backdrops for you to choose from.

You can see example images of the two sets for this year below. Each set will feature various accessories to suit the colour tones of the background and theme, so we recommend selecting clothing colours for your children based on the example images.

We will plan to shoot a selection of images on both of the backgrounds if the session is going well and running on time.

For sitters/young toddlers, we keep a limited number of beautiful outfits in the studio that you are welcome to use… or if you’re llooking for something special, we can thoroughly recommend visiting Peach Pear Designs– a boutique baby clothing store that make some beautiful little outfits that are perfect for baby and small children’s portraiture.

WHICH WILL YOU CHOOSE?

As in previous years, for 2024 we’ll be offering a choice of one darker (low key) backdrop, plus a lighter (high key) backdrop – so you can choose one or the other… or a selection of images from both.

We’ve selected two of our favourite backdrops for use this year – so you’ll know which tones and colours to keep in mind when planning on dressing your little ones for this year’s Christmas mini-sessions.

Important Notes

  • A LATE ARRIVAL WILL LEAD TO A SHORTER SESSION TIME!
  • EACH SESSION LASTS AROUND 15-20 MINUTES
  • PLEASE ARRIVE AT THE STUDIO WITH YOUR CHILDREN ALREADY WEARING THEIR OUTFITS FOR THE 1ST SESSION
  • OUR STUDIO IS NOT A LARGE SPACE, SO PLEASE LIMIT VISITORS TO ONLY THOSE NEEDED FOR YOUR SESSION
  • CLIENT PHOTOGRAPHY IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
  • BACK TO BACK SESSIONS:
    If you and a friend have booked back-to-back sessions, the second session participants can arrive early so we can overlap the two sessions, in order to take a few images of both sets of children together. You also won’t need to wait for the usual short break we schedule between each single session.

Christmas Order Deadlines

Your online gallery includes options to purchase additional items such as prints, frames and Christmas cards etc…

If you would like to order items from your online gallery, your order must be completed before the following dates in order for (UK) shipping before Christmas. We also recommend allowing an extra couple of days if possible to allow for any postal delays at this busy time.

  • December 9th: Folios, Wood Print Boxes, Matted Frames, Frames, Float Frames, Acrylic prints, Canvas, Gallery Board, Matted Prints, Calendars, Greeting Cards, Print Packs.
  • December 15th: Semi Gloss Prints, Matte Prints, Fine Art Prints, Deckled Prints,  Panoramic Prints.

We’ll aim to have your gallery online for you as soon as possible after your session. Usually, this will be within 7-10 days (sooner if we can).

As you enter Mill Lane, you’ll find horse fields to your right, and our home is the 6th drive on the left. Please park on, or across the drive in front of the gates. Don’t worry about blocking us in – we won’t be going anywhere!

Please note: there is more than one road called Mill Lane in the area – so be sure to use the postcode.
