Our sitter session baby portraits are perfect for 6 to 9 month old babies. More specifically, the ideal time for sitter portraits is when your baby is able to sit up unaided… ideally before he or she can crawl, if possible!

To help style your portrait session for the very best baby photography, we offer a wide range of beautiful backdrops to choose from. After booking, you can select the backdrop(s) of your choice for your sitter session.

Selecting your background and colours in advance means you’ll also be able to choose the perfect outfit to match the backdrop we’ll be using for your baby portraits.

We include free use of our studio props in your session fee. We also have a selection of purpose-made baby portrait outfits. Our baby outfits are perfect for sitting baby portrait sessions and are available for use at no extra charge.

If you prefer a simpler look for your baby’s portrait session, we also have a range of seamless coloured background papers, and a variety of textured fabric backgrounds to further customise your sitter portraits.

SITTER SESSION FAQS

For the best sitter baby portraits, we recommend scheduling your photo shoot for when your baby is around 6 to 9 months old.

The best sitter portraits take place when your baby can sit up unaided, but ideally, before he or she can crawl.

For babies around 1yr old, you may also consider a Cake Smash portrait session

We keep all our baby portrait sessions relatively short because we know babies have a short attention span. A standard baby portrait sitter session takes up to one hour. A simple-session for sitters takes around 30 minutes.

Once set up, we shoot quickly so we can capture as many cute expressions as possible while we have your baby’s attention!

We shoot plenty of images during your baby portrait session and edit the very best ones to show you.

A typical gallery from a standard sitter session will include a minimum of 30+ beautiful baby portraits (often more).

A standard baby portrait session includes our time and talent to create and retouch a set of beautiful images for you. However, unless otherwise stated, images and products are not included in the session fee.

A simple-session includes 10x digital image as part of your session fee, with options to purchase additional images and products if required.

We have a complete range of digital and physical products to show off your new portraits at their very best.

Yes, parent and sibling portraits can be added to any standard sitter portrait session. Although we concentrate mostly on baby alone, we’re also happy to include a few family portraits if you’d like this.

Due to time constraints, baby portrait simple-sessions do not include family portraits.

Yes, of course!

All digital sales include high-resolution (full-size and printable) digital images plus a complementary set of web-sized digital copies to match.

Our simple-sessions include a set of 10x digital images at no extra charge.

If you also want physical, printed products, you can add these at your discretion, but are not compulsory.

We got newborn photographs done with Rob and Karen, they were really accommodating to fit us in at short notice prior to 2 weeks since birth, as they mentioned the sooner the better for these sort of photos. We came into their home studio and were immediately at ease. They explained the process taking on board some of things we wanted and got to work! Our little one didn't want to sleep initially (although we also loved the awake photos they got), but as a team they worked with her, keeping her calm, then got her to sleep and that's when they stepped up the speed! Between them, they worked well for clothes changes/setting changes keeping baby asleep and it was truly a pleasure to watch professionals at their craft. Cut to receiving to the photos which was around about 2 weeks fully edited, we are delighted with the results! Of course cost may be a consideration for some for such photos but we considered it fair for the quality received. Delighted with the outcome and we would recommend it for newborn photos! We are also aware they do other photos for babies/children and would not hesitate to use them in the future!

I'd highly recommend Karen and Rob having attended for a newborn photoshoot which also featured a family shot with our two other toddlers. Karen and Rob were fantastic at engaging our older children whilst ensuring they got those all important shots which we will cherish as parents for years to come and our children once they are older.
