Cake smash session Crawley – today’s cake smash session was for Lily’s first birthday. We’d met Lily during one of the Christmas mini-sessions which she was also delighted to be a part of. Again, smiling throughout – she has the biggest grin!
Mum brought Lily to the studio in a cute pink and white dress, so we started the session by taking some “clean” portraits. We tend to start these sessions with some images of little ones wearing their birthday outfits first, as things can get a little messy when the cake is brought in 🙂
The outfit that Lily wore for the smashing of the cake itself was purchased from Peach Pear Designs. I loved this stunning cream satin and lace ruffle romper with “one” printed on it. It has a little tutu at the back and ostrich feathers on the shoulders. It was also adjustable, so fitted perfectly.
When you have a cake smash session, try to choose a cake that you know your one-year-old will enjoy. Some mums bake a cake, especially for the occasion. It can also be the case that the balloons become part of the fun as well as tucking into a lovely sticky cake!
All-in-all, we had such a lovely session with Lily. It was such a pleasure to welcome her and mum back to our studio.
