Hi, we’re Karen & Rob! We’re a couple, and together we run Baby Shoots Photography.

With Rob having been a full-time professional photographer for over 20 years, we’ve spent the last 15 years specialising in creating beautiful, award-winning newborn and baby portraits. While we help families from all over the South East, we are proud to be the “local” choice for parents seeking a calm, boutique experience near Horley, Hookwood, and the surrounding RH6 villages.

Secure Your Provisional Date

Booking your session is simple and takes just a few clicks. Once you’ve selected a date around 7-10 days after your due date, you’ll receive our preparation guide, with expert tips to help you prepare for the big day.

We know that newborns have their own ideas about timing, so you’ll have total freedom to adjust your appointment online the moment your little one arrives.

A Relaxed Morning in the Studio

While you relax in the studio, we’ll take care of everything—gently guiding your baby into a series of exquisite, safe, and timeless poses. This is your time to breathe and enjoy the magic.

This is a calm, baby-led experience designed to be as much a wonderful memory for you as it is a professional photoshoot. You’ll leave our studio with the peace of mind that those first fleeting days have been perfectly captured

The Reveal & Curation

Following your session, we’ll meticulously edit and retouch every portrait to our signature fine-art standard. We then invite you back for a private viewing at the studio to see your gallery in its full glory and choose the portraits that speak to you most.

For those who already know they want to keep every single memory, we also offer the convenient option to upgrade to the complete collection without having to revisit the studio.

Once you’ve selected your favourite images, they are delivered via a secure, private online gallery for instant high-resolution download.

The best newborn portraits take place at just 7 to 10 days old – or no later than 2 weeks old if possible. We strongly recommend booking early (while pregnant) if at all possible.

For the best results, we recommend booking after your 20-week scan. The ideal window for those sleepy, curled-up portraits is between 7 and 14 days old, though we can capture beautiful “older newborn” images up to 6 weeks.

If we need to change your exact shoot date later, that’s no problem (see below).

This is no problem, so long as you’ve already booked a slot with us. Your booking confirmation includes a link so you can reschedule your photoshoot onlineif needed.


This means you can be confident of getting the perfect date for your newborn photography.

Absolutely! We are arguably the most convenient choice for families in Horley, Smallfield, and Salfords.

Because our studio is located in Copthorne, we are quite literally a 5 to 10-minute drive from the heart of the RH6 area. Most of our local clients find it much easier to reach us, rather than having to navigate the one-way systems in Redhill or the busy traffic heading into Crawley town centre.

Whether you are coming from Meath Green, Langshott, or Hookwood, it’s a quick, straightforward trip that won’t disrupt your baby’s sleep schedule.


Yes! We regularly welcome families from Hookwood, Smallfield, and Salfords. Being so close to the Horley border makes us the most practical choice for local parents.


We completely understand—those first few trips out with a car seat can feel like a military operation! That’s why we’ve made our studio as friendly an experience as possible.

Unlike studios on the Horley High Street or in town centres, where you might have to hunt for a space in the Victoria Road car park, we provide private, off-road parking right outside our front gates. You can step straight from your car into our warm, temperature-controlled studio. This ‘car-to-door’ proximity means your baby stays settled and cosy, and you don’t have to worry about the weather or carrying heavy gear across town.


If your baby is already born, we recommend using our online scheduler to book in a date for as soon as possible. If your baby is already 2 weeks or older, we can still create a set of beautiful baby pictures for you… But your session may include simpler poses and more dressed or wrapped images.

All newborn portraits take place in our specialist Newborn Photography Studio in Copthorne, West Sussex.

Our studio is a private, dedicated space specifically tailored for the comfort of babies and parents. We provide a warm, relaxing environment offering a completely stress-free experience for families travelling from Horley, Hookwood and Smallfield.

Our newborn photoshoots generally take place on Monday to Thursday mornings. Limited weekends are available, subject to availability, and a small weekend premium (please contact us directly).

Yes, of course! Digital images are included in all our newborn photo shoot packages – and all newborn sessions also include the option to add additional digital (or printed) images if you want to. In fact, after enjoying their newborn photoshoot, we find that most people want to upgrade to all the images we’ve created for them! 🙂

You can add extra digital images, either individually or as a complete set of all files (this also includes a beautiful, ultra-high-resolution animated slideshow set to music). Customers who pre-purchase all files can do so without returning to the studio for a viewing and ordering session, if they choose.

All images are meticulously edited and retouched to perfection, before we show them to you… So there will be a short wait while we prepare your images after your portrait session – but not too long! Images are usually ready within 2 weeks (often less).
