Welcome! We’re Karen and Rob, the founders of Baby Shoots.

For over 15 years, we’ve specialised in the delicate art of newborn and baby portraiture, backed by Rob’s 20+ years as a full-time professional photographer. While our work draws families from all over the South East, we have become a premier destination for parents in Horsham who are looking for a more boutique, intimate alternative to high-street studios.

We believe the best portraits happen when everyone is at ease. That’s why our sessions are entirely baby-led; we swap rigid posing and time pressure for gentle guidance and a relaxed, unhurried pace.

We highly recommend getting in touch shortly after your 20-week scan. By reserving your provisional date during pregnancy, you ensure that we have space held for you during that vital fortnight following your due date.

Don’t worry about your baby’s actual arrival date—babies rarely stick to the schedule! Your booking is fully flexible, and you can easily adjust your session date online once your little one is safely home. Whether they arrive early or a little later than expected, we’ll make sure your session happens at the perfect time.

So long as you’ve already booked a slot with us. Your booking confirmation includes a link so you can reschedule your photoshoot onlineif needed. This means you can be confident of getting the perfect date for your newborn photography.

Absolutely! We are a very popular choice for families in Southwater, Broadbridge Heath, and Warnham. Most of our clients from the Horsham area find it’s a quick, direct drive of around 30 minutes via the A264. Since we have free parking directly outside our home studio gates, you won’t have the stress of navigating Horsham town centre traffic or parking wardens with a new baby.

No, not at all. Don’t worry—while the ‘sleepy’ window is ideal, we can still capture stunning portraits of older newborns. If your little one has already arrived, please check our online scheduler immediately for any last-minute availability. For babies over 2 weeks old, we focus on beautifully wrapped setups and ‘awake’ portraits that highlight their emerging personality.

All newborn portraits take place in our Newborn Photography Studio in Copthorne, West Sussex.

Our home studio is a private, dedicated space in Copthorne (RH10), specifically tailored for the comfort of babies and parents. We provide a warm, relaxing environment with private parking right outside our driveway—offering a completely stress-free experience for families travelling from Horsham, Southwater, and Broadbridge Heath.

Being situated just off the A264, most of our clients from the RH12 and RH13 areas find it’s a quick, direct drive of around 30 minutes to the studio for parents from across the Horsham district, as well as surrounding areas in Sussex and Surrey. By avoiding the hustle of the high street, you can step straight from your car into our temperature-controlled studio, ensuring your newborn stays settled and cosy from the moment you arrive.

Our newborn photoshoots generally take place on Monday to Thursday mornings. Limited weekends are available, subject to availability, and a small weekend premium (please contact us directly).

Yes, of course! Digital images are included in all our newborn photo shoot packages – and all newborn sessions also include the option to add additional digital (or printed) images if you want to. In fact, after enjoying their newborn photoshoot, we find that most people want to upgrade to all the images we’ve created for them! 🙂

You can add extra digital images, either individually or as a complete set of all files (this also includes a beautiful, ultra-high-resolution animated slideshow set to music). Customers who pre-purchase all files can do so without returning to the studio for a viewing and ordering session, if they choose.

All images are meticulously edited and retouched to perfection, before we show them to you… So there will be a short wait while we prepare your images after your portrait session – but not too long! Images are usually ready within 2 weeks (often less).
