Hi, we’re Karen and Rob — the specialist team behind Baby Shoots.

With over two decades of professional photography expertise, we’ve spent the last 15 years dedicated to the art of newborn portraiture. Families frequently travel to us from Reigate, Redhill, and Nutfield, seeking an intimate, boutique experience that high-street studios simply can’t match.

We believe the most beautiful portraits happen when life slows down. Our sessions are entirely baby-led; we prioritize gentle guidance and a relaxed, unhurried pace over rigid posing. Based in Copthorne, our studio is perfectly positioned for Surrey families looking for a luxury experience. Your session is a time for you to truly relax while we work our magic. We use a baby-led approach, gently guiding your newborn through a series of safe, artistic, and sophisticated poses. The Art of the Edit

Following your session, we dedicate significant time to hand-retouching each image to a professional, fine-art standard. We then invite you back to the studio for a private gallery reveal. This is a special moment where you can select your absolute favourite portraits.

For those who prefer a completely remote experience, we offer the option to upgrade to a complete collection from the comfort of your own home, without even having to return to the studio.

The newborn stage is incredibly short-lived. In the whirlwind of those first few weeks, these tiny features change almost daily.

Our goal is to preserve those details exactly as they are right now. We ensure your final gallery is rich and varied, providing a 360-degree view of your baby’s first days. From creative setups to intimate close-ups, you’ll return home with a complete visual legacy that ensures you never forget just how tiny they once were.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

The best newborn portraits take place at just 7 to 10 days old – or no later than 2 weeks old if possible. We strongly recommend booking early (while pregnant) if at all possible.

For the best results, we recommend booking after your 20-week scan. The ideal window for those sleepy, curled-up portraits is between 7 and 14 days old, though we can capture beautiful “older newborn” images up to 6 weeks.

If we need to change your exact shoot date later, that’s no problem (see below).

Absolutely! We are a very popular choice for families in Reigate, Redhill, Merstham, and Bletchingley. Most of our Surrey clients find it’s a straightforward, 20-minute drive via the A217 or the A23.

While our studio is in Copthorne, we are a specialist choice for families across the entire Reigate and Banstead district, including Merstham, Nutfield, Bletchingley, and Godstone. Many parents choose us because we offer a calm, boutique environment and free, private doorstep parking.

One of the biggest benefits of visiting our Copthorne studio is the private, doorstep parking. Unlike the challenge of finding a space in Reigate town centre or navigating the Redhill one-way system with a new baby, you can park just inches from our door and step straight into our warm, quiet studio.

If your baby is already born, we recommend using our online scheduler to book in a date for as soon as possible. If your baby is already 2 weeks or older, we can still create a set of beautiful baby pictures for you… But your session may include simpler poses and more dressed or wrapped images.

All newborn portraits take place in our specialist Newborn Photography Studio in Copthorne, West Sussex.

Our studio is a private, dedicated space specifically tailored for the comfort of babies and parents. We provide a warm, relaxing environment offering a completely stress-free experience for families travelling from Reigate, Redhill, and Merstham.

Being situated just a short drive from the A217 and M25 (J7/J8), we are a quick and easy 20-minute trip for parents from across the Reigate and Banstead district, as well as surrounding areas like Nutfield and Bletchingley. By avoiding the traffic of Reigate High Street and the struggle of town centre parking, you can step straight from your car into our temperature-controlled studio, ensuring your newborn stays settled and cosy from the moment you arrive.

Our newborn photoshoots generally take place on Monday to Thursday mornings. Limited weekends are available, subject to availability, and a small weekend premium (please contact us directly).

Yes, of course! Digital images are included in all our newborn photo shoot packages – and all newborn sessions also include the option to add additional digital (or printed) images if you want to. In fact, after enjoying their newborn photoshoot, we find that most people want to upgrade to all the images we’ve created for them! 🙂

You can add extra digital images, either individually or as a complete set of all files (this also includes a beautiful, ultra-high-resolution animated slideshow set to music). Customers who pre-purchase all files can do so without returning to the studio for a viewing and ordering session, if they choose.

All images are meticulously edited and retouched to perfection, before we show them to you… So there will be a short wait while we prepare your images after your portrait session – but not too long! Images are usually ready within 2 weeks (often less).
